Step 1: Move case to an open area. A chair and stand to put your book on are needed. Make sure you are far from any breakable objects and you have about an arms length away on all directions so you have enough room to play.
Step 2: Put your playing book on the stand (make sure it is directly in front of you)
Step 3: Open your baritone case up (there should be latches on the side)
Step 2: Put your playing book on the stand (make sure it is directly in front of you)
Step 3: Open your baritone case up (there should be latches on the side)
Step 4: You should now see the baritone, as well as a small circular piece of metal (pictured here). Remove this from the case, and wash thoroughly with water and dish shop, rubbing both the outer and inner rim (more can be seen about this here or a video explanation here)
Step 5: Your mouthpiece is now clean and you are almost ready to begin! The final step is to insert the mouthpiece into the correct place on the baritone. First take out the baritone from your case. Now directly below the bell (or the long circular bore at the top) there should be a long hollow tube sticking out of the instrument (as pictured). By slowly twisting the mouthpiece in, you make sure you can easily remove it after you are done playing. Now you are all set up!
